Scottish luxury gifts and accessories brand, Fabulous Black has launched its new Botanic Flora silk scarf to celebrate the 20th Commonwealth Games coming to the company’s home city.
Designed and hand-screen printed in Glasgow, the limited-edition silk scarf features a distinctive design of Scottish flora inspired by the city’s Botanic Gardens.
The centrepiece features the Botanic’s iconic Kibble Palace, one of the most prestigious remaining Victorian iron and glass structures. Built in 1873, it houses tropical plants from around the world. To reflect the Games’ medal categories, Botanic Flora comes in three colour options – gold, silver and bronze – each with a separate colour contrast – signature black, teal and berry respectively.
This summer, Scotland’s largest city welcomes thousands of visitors from across the globe to witness the sporting achievements of the 20th Commonwealth Games. Fabulous Black director, Wendy Smith said: “Glasgow, which in Gaelic means ‘dear, green place’, has many lovely parks and gardens. Botanic Flora represents one of the city’s best-loved attractions. We hope that visitors to Glasgow will find time to appreciate the beauty of our open spaces.”
Co-director Eleanor Stevenson said: “Glasgow is a very stylish city, crammed full of creativity. We have worked with our talented designers to create a very special accessory to celebrate what is a momentous year for both Glasgow and Scotland as a whole.”
